CYFA State of the Children and Young Persons’ Report

ICYS Ipswich Community Youth Service are proud to be a collaborative partner in the production and launch of the State of the Children and Young Persons’ Report 2014: Ipswich and West Moreton.

The State of the Children and Young Persons’ Report 2014 was compiled and published by the Child, Youth and Family Alliance Ipswich and West Moreton (CYFA). CYFA is a regional collaborative comprised of over 40 organisations and 150 individuals from government and non-government organisations working in the areas of health, education, community development, youth justice as well as child, youth and family support.

The report, released in November 2014, presents data on 44 indicators of child, youth and family welfare for three local government areas in the West Moreton Region, namely Ipswich City Council, Lockyer Valley Regional Council and Somerset Regional Council areas. The report was compiled from a range of publicly available sources including the Australian Bureau of Statistics census results, the Social Health Atlas for Queensland 2014, the Australian Early Development Census 2012 and the 2013 NAPLAN results from the Australian Curriculum and Assessment Authority.

ICYS Service Manager, Amanda Margerison, is a representative on the CYFA Strategic Reference Group, the governance group of CYFA that has overseen the production and launch of this report with funding assistance from Mission Australia and Ipswich City Council. The CYFA Strategic Reference Group is made up of eleven representatives from nine government and non-government organisations overseeing the collaboration of CYFA with the aim of improving the outcomes for children, young people and families in the Ipswich and West Moreton Region.
